PROSPECTS
INJURED:
G - Jean-Sebastien Aubin 30, R, 5-11, 180
BENCH:
D/RW – Kevin Dallman
26, R, 5-11, 195
RW – Brian Willsie 29, R, 6-1, 195
G – Jonathon Bernier 19, L, 5-11, 177
Lewiston (QMJHL) 37 GP, 26-10-0, 2.58 GAA, .905 Sv%
Just backstopped his squad to the QMJHL championship, going
an astounding 16-1 in the playoffs.  Has great reflexes and his
lateral movement is very smooth.  With the black hole that has
become the Kings goaltending position, it shouldn’t be too long
before he makes his NHL debut.
D/C – Brian Boyle 22, L, 6-6, 222
Boston College (HE) 42 GP, 19-34-53, 104 PIM
There is much debate over whether to convert Boyle to defense.
One truth to his game is that you can’t teach size, and he
definitely has size.  He is getting better at using it, and if they keep
him at forward, he could be used as a power play specialist to be
parked in front of the net.  Will probably start the season in
Manchester of the AHL while he learns to better use his size away
from the puck, or learn how to become a defenseman.
RW – Lauri Tukonen 21, R, 6-2, 200
Manchester (AHL) 61 GP, 13-19-32, 30 PIM
Has been playing a checking role for Manchester, and he has
adapted well.  Is strong on the puck and uses his size in both
ends.  When he is placed in an offensive role, his willingness to
check seems to drop down his priority list.  Once he develops
consistency, he should end up on the second line.
C – Trevor Lewis 20, R, 6-1, 192
Owen Sound (OHL) 62 GP, 29-44-73, 51 PIM
Possesses plus overall skills.  The only aspect needing work at this
point is adapting to the speed of playing with grown men and
improving his faceoffs.  Has good speed, a hard and accurate
shot, and finishes his checks.  Will probably start the year in the
AHL, but wouldn’t be a surprise if he earns a full time job on the
3rd line with the Kings.
RW – Petr Kanko 23, L, 5-9, 195
Manchester (AHL) 58 GP, 11-8-19, 57 PIM
Is the prototype energy line player.  Even though he’s under 6 feet
tall, he’s not afraid of the physical game and drives the net for
scoring chances.  He still makes questionable decisions which
result in untimely penalties.  Will battle Giuliano & O’Sullivan for
a spot with the Kings in camp.
C – Gabe Gauthier 23, L, 5-9, 200
Manchester (AHL) 69 GP, 14-28-42, 54 PIM
Excellent on faceoffs.  His point-per-game scoring production in
college reflected his offensive abilities.  He uses his low center of
gravity well, and has an inane ability to get shots to the net.  Like
Kanko, will battle for a spot on the 3rd line in camp.
