YOUNG AMERICANS
Who broke out in 2010-2011
21-RW-Drew Stafford, 10/30/1985, 6-1, 216, Milwaukee, WI
2010-11 stats: 62 GP, 31-21-52, 11 PPG
Finally broke through as a top 6 power forward in his 4th year. if he can match or exceed
his 31 goals this year, he will be a key to Buffalo's success. his goal total is even more
impressive considering he missed 20 games due to injury. scores in bunches, so
there's potential for 40 plus goals and 70 points if he stays healthy.
42-LW-Nathan Gerbe, 7/24/1987, 5-6, 178, Oxford, MI
2010-11 stats: 64 GP, 16-15-31
All he does is score goals. Gerbe totalled 60 in his final 2 seasons at Boston College,
and then put up 30 in his rookie AHL season. his quickness, mind for the game, and
incredible hands make his size a non-factor. if he can avoid injury, he should be a 25-30
goal scorer.
Who is ready to break out in 2011-12
33-D-T.J. Brennan, 4/3/1989, 6-1, 202, Willingboro, NJ
is a top-end skater with offensive abilities you can't teach from the back end. currently
sits 9th on the depth chart, but he will make someone above him expendable. scored 15
goals, 5 on the powerplay in his second AHL season.

Very fast and skilled. Keeping Roy and Pominville healthy will
be key and the top line is as good as any. Adding the creative
Leino to Stafford's line should help both players to career
years. Third line just as potent as second.

New owner Terry Pegula's spending has also given the
Sabres considerable depth on D. Gragnani, who was the
team's best player in the playoffs, may not even make the
team. Addition of Regehr gives team much needed
physicality. If more is needed, Mike Weber is available. He
may even beat out Gragnani.
Ryan Miller must be grinning from ear-to-ear.
One of the best in the game, Michigan native
Miller will be playing behind one of the
deepest and most talented teams of his
career. Enroth is an upgrade over the retired
Lalime as backup, and has starter potential.
