PROSPECTS
C - Danny Irmen 23, R, 6-0, 190
Houston (AHL) 80 GP, 17-20-37, 45 PIM
Has an outstanding work ethic.  Spent 3 years at Univ. of Minnesota, and
developed quickly in 1st pro-season.  Will battle Kalus for spot on third line.
LW - Benoit Pouloit 21, L, 6-3, 183
Houston (AHL) 67 GP, 19-17-36, 109 PIM
Has the talent to skate on the top 2 lines, but needs to improve his decision
making.  Takes too many bad penalties and needs to learn how to put forth
consistent effort every game.  If improvement is made, could be in
Minnesota by December.
C - James Sheppard 19, L, 6-1, 204
Cape Breton (QMJHL) 56 GP, 33-63-96, 62 PIM
Possesses NHL size and elite speed.  Suffered a back injury this year, but
recovered to put up impressive numbers.  Should be one of first injury call
ups if he doesn't win a spot in camp.
D - Shawn Belle 22, L, 6-1, 230
Houston (AHL) 57 GP, 4-14-18, 73 PIM
His tool box is full, but he seems to be unsure how to apply them.  Good
size, top notch speed.  Played 9 NHL games last year.  Wild need his size,
so when his hockey sense clicks he will play in the NHL.
RW - Matt Foy 24, R, 6-2, 219
Houston (AHL) 62 GP, 27-23-50, 121 PIM
Excellent size, has offensive upside.  Prototypical energy liner physically,
just needs to improve his defensive game.  Could win a fourth line job out
of camp.
RW - Morten Madsen 20, L, 6-2, 191
Victoriaville (QMJHL) 62 GP, 32-68-100, 86 PIM
Danish youngster excelled in his first season in North America.  If Wild has
trouble scoring, could be called up to provide a spark.  Potential first liner.
LW - Roman Voloshenko21, R, 6-1, 207
Houston (AHL) 76 GP, 11-19-30, 22 PIM
He really fell off this year offensively.  The franchise says he was focusing
on improving other aspects of his game, but they also acknowledge he has
a lot of work to do before moving up.
